ABOUT THE HASKELL COUNTY HOSPITAL FOUNDATION

The Haskell County Hospital Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that exists to foster and support the purposes and Mission of Haskell Memorial Hospital. The Foundation, established in 2020, encourages, receives, and manages gifts and bequests for the benefit of Haskell Memorial Hospital. Through fundraising and support efforts, the Foundation’s Mission is to provide funding for Haskell Memorial Hospital’s needs and programs in order to help the hospital carry on its legacy of delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare in Haskell County and the surrounding region.

In 1935, in the midst of the country’s worst economic crisis, the Great Depression, a group of visionaries recognized the need for a hospital in Haskell County. In July 1937, Haskell County voters approved a $60,000 bond, despite the national unemployment rate of 14 percent. On October 23, 1939,  Haskell Memorial Hospital opened its doors to begin a legacy of providing outstanding healthcare to the folks in Haskell County and the surrounding region.

After almost 85 years, that legacy continues. The Haskell County Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees is made up of men and women with the same progressive mindset as those pioneers of the 1930s. They are committed to fortifying the future of healthcare in Haskell County. The trustees recognize that the best way to offer long-term, substantial support to the hospital is through the establishment of an endowment. An endowment will generate perpetual income for the Foundation, which will benefit the hospital indefinitely.

2024 LEGACY GALA TO BE HELD ON FEBRUARY 29, 2024

The Haskell County Hospital Foundation will hold its inaugural Legacy Gala on February 29, 2024, at the Historic Jones & Cox Building in Haskell, TX. The evening will begin at 6 PM, when guests will enjoy a social hour with hors d’ouevres and a cash bar, fine dining catered by 5C Smokehouse, and an evening of whodunnit as they try to solve the mystery surrounding the murder of Frederick Feathersby, millionaire feather farmer.

The evening will include a Silent Auction, offering a variety of great items, including a pair of custom boots from Leddy’s Legacy of Abilene, a horsemanship clinic on the legendary 6666 Ranch, and a sunset helicopter tour for two with Brazos River Helicopters. Additional experiences such as two season subscriptions to the Abilene Philharmonic will be up for bids as well.

Programming for the evening includes an unveiling of the Foundation’s strategies for fortifying the Haskell County Hospital District to ensure a thriving future for healthcare in Haskell County and the surrounding region. This event promises to be unlike anything our community has ever experienced. Not only will guests enjoy an evening of fine dining and fun, but they will also have the opportunity to be legacy builders. This event is more than a fundraiser. It is establishing the foundation (pun intended) for the future of healthcare in Haskell County.

There are a limited number of seats available for the evening. Anyone considering attending is encouraged to purchase their tickets, table, or sponsorship before they are sold out. Legacy Partners will receive a discount code with a monthly partnership of $25 or more. There is also a discounted rate for the purchase of a table for eight.
